All About Me
Welcome to my website. I am an artist who enjoys working with paint and textiles.
I am passionate about creating and am at my happiest in my studio trying out new techniques and ideas.
I retired from teaching 10 years ago and embraced retirement with a determination to rekindle my arty self.
A Fresh, Creative Approach To Art
After joining local art groups and attending workshops I started painting in water colour and acrylic. About 6 years ago I attended a batik and silk painting workshop and was hooked! Although I still enjoy painting my first love is working with textiles. I also recycle textiles to create new items . I am inspired by my garden and the glorious Shropshire countryside. I also enjoy holidays in Devon and the sea and coast also appears in my work.
How We Work
Where can you find me?
I have regular market stalls in Nantwich and Market Drayton but you can also find me at craft fairs and art events locally. My stall is called Arty Stuff by Jane, I sell my printed cards, hand made cards and bags.
I am also proud to be a member of Gallery at 12 in Eccleshall. The gallery has a display of my larger pieces for sale and also stocks my printed and hand made cards.
Workshops and Arty Sessions
With a background in teaching I also enjoy running workshops and arty sessions for local groups. You can find me on craft courses. Just search for batik/ Shropshire and you will find me or better still book direct through my website.
