At Arty Stuff by Jane, creativity is something to be shared. Throughout the year I host a variety of art workshops, creative sessions, and community events designed to inspire artists of all levels – from complete beginners to experienced creators.
Whether you want to explore a new technique, relax with a creative evening, or meet other art lovers, these events provide a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can enjoy making art.
Batik is the ancient tradition using hot wax to create images. I offer two Batik Workshops
An introduction to batik – we will look at the tools and equipment for batik, look at samples of batik on paper, cotton and silk. we will then use the tools , hot wax and dyes to create a small batik on rag paper. this image will be used to create a greetings card. Having mastered the tools and basic techniques we will go on to create a batik on silk. The workshop is for 3 hours and takes place in my studio. I can accommodate up to 3 people and costs £50 per person.
A full day Batik workshop – during the day you will explore tools and techniques to create several batik pieces. This workshop allows the time to develop the technique of layering dye and wax to create detailed effects. the day lasts from 10am till 4 pm. I can accommodate up to 3 people and costs – £75 per person
I have a selection of designs for you to use or you can bring a photograph or other image that you would like ton use as a starting point. i also have a lovely garden which could also be used to inspire you.
